  • Screen size: 21.5 inches
  • Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Pixels
  • Processor: Intel Core I5 8400
  • RAM: 8GB/16GB(DDR4)
  • Storage Space: 120G/240G SSD+1TB HDD
  • Shortcut Keys: 20 Programmable press keys
  • Digital Pen: PW500 with 5080 LPI resolution and 8192 Pressure Sensitivity levels

The Kamvas Studio 22 is a Standalone since it harbors an internal computer system, meaning it can be used without connecting to a computer.

The computer system comprises fast Intel Core i5-8400 processors that enable the tablet to run multiple tasks simultaneously. This is made even better and more effective by a RAM level of 8GB/16GB.

Moreover, with a 1TB HDD and 120GB/240GB dual drives, the operational speed is not only high, but you get more internal storage space to save your files and documents.

The two versions of the Kamvas Studio 22 come differently configured and you either get one with 8GB RAM, 120GB + 1TB HDD, or the other more powerful version comprising 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD+1TB HDD.

A specially designed internal ventilation system cools the processors, maintaining stable performance during processing.

The monitor is made with a lovely black-matte color with a frosted texture to avoid fingerprint retainment.

On each side of the screen, you get 10 express keys each, totaling 20 but only 10 keys plus the additional slider on the left are customizable. This ensures you are provided with shortcut options of your choice for an easy and effective work rate.

What the other 10 buttons and slider on the right do is mirror the customized buttons and slider on the left to support left-handed users as well.

However, since one uses the tablet with a stylus in hand, it would have been better for Huion to only make the 10 programmable keys, with the left-user mode feature for left-handed users.

On the side of the tablet, you find the connectivity ports including the HDMI, DVI, VGA, AC, and USB ports.

The location on the side is great, unlike most tablets that position below the tablet, hindering use at low stand angles.

The ST100 adjustable stand comes in handy in positioning the Kamvas Studio in a comfortable setting. It is both sturdy and flexible, adjusting to a range of 20-80 degrees.

The PW500 pen is the stylus that comes with this tablet. It is battery-free, made with an ergonomic design, and produces organic and accurate strokes.

When drawing, accuracy and precision are achieved courtesy of 8192 levels of pen pressure sensitivity making the experience natural and authentic.

Additionally, the pen supports the tilt function, unveiling the tilt brush effect and smooth color transition. When it comes to the ergonomic build, you get to have a comfortable stylus with a lovely grip, enabling you to use the pen for a long without any signs of fatigue.

Screen and Display

Huion has a reputation when it comes to rich color display features and they wouldn’t dare involve their expertise in their standalone tablet.

The Huion Kamvas Studio 22 comes with a 21.5 inches diagonal size proving to be quite nice for a working area though it can be quite large for portability.

What you get for screen resolution is a lovely 1920 by 1080 pixels, that provides you with an HD, well-presented visual with an additional 178-degree viewing angle, enabling clarity in different viewing angles. Additionally, the colors only get the richer courtesy of a 120% sRGB color gamut and presentation of 16.7 million colors.

Various technologies further make the screen experience better, with the Full Laminated screen reducing parallax, and enhancing accuracy. The screen is etched, with an Anti-Glare Glass helping to reduce reflections for transparency in the brightest of environments.

  • Effectively fast processors
  • Large working area
  • Quality screen features
  • High performing stylus
  • Lovely build and design
  • Support both right and left-handed users
  • Is independent of a computer connection

  • May experience a little bit of parallax
  • Does not support the tilt function
  • Mirrored express keys
  • Too large for portability

What you get from the Huion Kamvas Studio 22 is value for money. When compared to various standalone tablets with similar features, the tablet is budget-friendly with a tag below $1000.

Most tablets of its caliber range from $1800 to $3000 and although some may have better features, the price they go for when compared to the Studio 22 is just ridiculous.

One area where the tablet may fall short is when it comes to drawing. To begin with, the tablet may experience a little bit of parallax and though some may overlook this, does not support the stylus tilt function.

Another issue is a large number of keys with half of them mirroring the opposite keys. It may be to support both-handed users but other tablets are welcoming technologies that sought the issue better and conveniently.

Overall the Huion Kamvas Studio 22 is a great Standalone tablet and you can enhance your artistic world with the tablet at an unaffordable purchasing price.
