The first step in using the Apple Pencil is connecting it to your iPad. The second generation Apple Pencil is one of the best in the industry. In this guide I will show you How to set up Apple Pencil.
As you all are aware there are 2 versions of Apple Pencils. Both pencils have a different set up method to connect to your iPad. We will start with the second generation Apple Pencil.
How to set up Apple Pencil Second Generation
Start by turning your bluetooth on. Go to settings then Bluetooth and toggle to on.
Connect your Apple Pencil and iPad on the magnetic side. This side is also used to charge your Apple Pencil 2.
Some pop up tutorials will come up. Just tap ok on them. Your Pencil is now connected and ready for use.
How to set up Apple Pencil First Generation
Apple Pencil First generation Apple Pencil does not have a magnetic side. Before you start, make sure you have the correct Apple Pencil. To confirm that check out the differences between Apple Pencil 1 and 2. Swipe on the top right to turn on the Bluetooth.
Pop up the lid on your Apple Pencil 1 and connect to your iPad.
A pop up window will come up with 2 options. Choose a pair option. A message will pop up to show pairing is successful. If you do not see this message, go to settings then bluetooth you will see Apple Pencil added to the list of connected devices.
It is important to note that Apple Pencil 2 and 1 are different devices and are compatible on different devices and can not be used interchangeably.
