- Add the Scripture Quote
- Insert Images
- Final Adjustments
- Save and Export

9 Easy Steps to design a church Flier in Illustrator
Step 1: Set Up the Document. Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new document. Set size to 1080 px by 1080 px. This is perfect for social media like IG. Set the color mode from CMYK to RGB. RGB is ideal for beginners. To do this, go to File>Document Color Mode. Then choose RGB or CMYK color mode.

Step 2: Add the Background. Use the Rectangle Tool (M) to create a green background covering the entire artboard. Add a lighter green rectangle or shape on the right side to create a two-tone diagonal effect. Use the Pen Tool (P) or rotate the rectangle for the angle.
Step 3: Adding the Logo. To add the logo, go to File>Place and navigate to where you have the logo saved. Click on it to import it into Illustrator.

Once the image appears, click on it using the Selection Tool (V) and resize by clicking and dragging while holding down Shift. Position it where you want using the Selection Tool (V).
Step 4: Create all the main text sections. For Text Block 1 (“Leaders Training…”), use the Type Tool (T) to add text. Write “Leaders Training” on two lines. Use a bold sans-serif font for “Leaders” and a lighter green for “Training.” Add the rest of the text (“Graduation Module 1.”) below in a complementary font style. Adjust font sizes and align to the left.
Using the rectangle tool (M), create a green rectangle behind the “Graduation Module 1” text. Place the text on top of the rectangle by right-clicking Arrange > Bring to Front.
Step 5: Add the Date. Use the Ellipse Tool (L) to create a green circle. Place it on the left side. Add the text “8th June” using the Type Tool (T) and center it within the circle. Use bold fonts for emphasis.
Step 6: Add the Scripture Quote. Go to the Type Tool (T) to add the quote from Exodus 18:20 at the bottom-right corner. Choose a readable serif or sans-serif font and adjust the size to fit. I used the Gotham Book.

Step 7: Insert Images. To import the graduation hat and certificate image, Go to File > Place, choose the image, and position it at the top-right.
Repeat the same for the graduates’ photo and position it diagonally below the first image. Use Effect > Stylize > Drop Shadow to add shadows behind the images for depth.
Step 8: Final Adjustments. Ensure proper alignment of elements using the Align Panel. Add subtle drop shadows to text and key elements for a polished look. Double-check the spacing and colors for a cohesive layout.
Step 9: Save and Export. First, save the file as an editable Illustrator file (.AI) for future modifications. After that, export the design for digital platforms. Go to File > Export > Export As. Choose PNG or JPEG for digital use and ensure the resolution is set to 300 PPI.
